Neon
From inside the old women looks into the mirror
She sees a young girl that’s used to be there.
Now beads and lines upon her face.
All he see’s is his own reflection in the window pane.
They have a sign up, it reads
“Help required, apply within.”
Neon signs hum the otherwise dark streets.
Amber and purple hues mix the skin of youth.
Jumping ghosts in flickering bulbs.
Life’s static distortions in 80s VHS quality.
Violent noises, soundtracked
He stands expression no more, no less.
He can feel his heart beat, lumpy, steady.
Black jaguar.
